Ionian Club
Welcome to the Ionian Club a Women's Friendship Group that started in Launceston in 1946 and now extends to 16 other cities and regions around Australia. As the original club, we are excited to host the Ionian 80th birthday celebrations as part of the 14th Ionian Convention in October 2026.
CLUB MONTHLY MEETING
Our Club meeting is held the first Thursday of each month followed by lunch.
Meetings for 2026 reconvene on 5th March 2026 however we are currently sourcing a new venue.
ACTIVITIES
We provide a variety of opportunities to meet and participate in social events with other women. Regular activities include a walking group, mahjong groups both beginners and advanced, book discussion groups, ‘foodies’ group and monthly social drinks, & evening dining out opportunities open to partners and friends.

Our Coffee Mornings are held at the Launceston Library Coffee Shop, Civic Square St John Street, in the City10.30am to 11.30am on the First Wednesday of each month. No need to book, just come along and catch up with members and potential new members.
Prospective members are encouraged to attend at least 3 functions before joining. We look forward to welcoming you.
